We have 10 inches of ice on Andrusia and most area lakes, started seeing light vehicles travel on them as well. The fishing has been going quite well with nice northern, walleye, and perch being caught from 15 to 20 feet of water. I put our 8 by 12 foot angling house out yesterday and caught plenty of perch and 4 walleyes. Hopefully when our kids are on Christmas break we will find some time to take them out fishing. Happy holidays and good fishing to everyone.

  • We are finally getting some ice to start our fishing season off. There is about 3-4" out there right now. The forecast is looking pretty good for growing ice with wind chills around -20 to -30, the low today with the wind chill was -47, I guess when the weather wants to get cold there is no fooling around. I'm getting the two ice fish houses and the spearing house out by the middle of next week. I can't wait to start pulling those walleyes and perch through the ice and throwing them in the fryer.

Opener 2009

Fishing opener started off with quite a few limits coming in. The bait of choice was a tie between shiners and fatheads. The evening bite also produced quite a few limits off of our dock. We saw a few of those nice big crappies as well.

Most area lakes are easily traveled 4WD not needed. Big Lake is giving up some sunnies, you have pick and choose, but good numbers are available. Lower sucker is starting to produce some crappies in low light periods. Perch are starting to move into the shallows on Pike Bay.
